Precise security monitoring with LiDAR‍

LiDAR is a security technology that unlike conventional systems, which typically only guard the perimeter or fence around buildings, actually guards the entire monitored area. If an intruder enters the guarded area, the connected alarm system will be notified.

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a technology that measures the distance to an object by directing light beams at the object and then measures the time and wavelength of the reflected light beam to estimate the distance between detector and object/surroundings. The application then creates a 3D representation with analysis of the 3D space around the detector.

The technology is similar to RADAR, but while RADAR uses radio waves, LiDAR uses light beams. The lasers in LiDAR are more accurate and can provide very accurate surface measurements. Zenita is working on this technology for security surveillance.
